![]() ![]() I just lost a rat last week to pneumonia and my first rat showed the same symptoms so it probably wasn't cancer to begin with. The only way to know for sure would be to do a necropsy and submit the sample to pathology for testing. I'm just saying one vet might have thought it was an infection and the other might have thought it was cancer. ![]() 15:10:04 Krystal, was a necropsy performed on your rat? If not, how do you know it was cancer and not an infection? Rats frequently get pneumonia that looks very much like cancer. I'd recommend them for dogs & cats and maybe other pets, but I would rather stick to Midtown Animal Clinic for my rats. I wish I had gone to a more knowledgable Vet, maybe I could have saved my rat from any pain and suffering. Well the night my rat died, I rushed him to the Woodland ER and it turned out he didn't have an infection, he had cancer that had already spread so it was too late and we euthanized him. My pet rat supposedly had cancer (according to the Woodland vet) but before I considered the Woodland Vet clinic, I saw one of the Vets at Acorn (because it was my regular Vet) and she said that my rat probably had an infection and prescribed antibiotics. 12:32:11 This place is great but I don't think they knew too much about pet rats. 21:38:11 I wonder if this place take student interns ? - ElizabethBarthel good place to go, at least from my experience with my hamster. 20:15:36 my hamster was sick and when we took him in the staff and vets were very friendly and made us feel relaxed. 16:11:22 We've taken pets here for years- it's a great place - AntoniaOakley ![]() ![]() You aren’t just reading about Yossarian’s growing desperation as the tunnel-visioned Col. With its careening prose and cheerfully deadly gallows humor, Heller’s novel is a full-immersion affair. It looks terrific, but it is too polished to leave a mark. They created a beautifully appointed rabbit hole, but they didn’t have the nerve to dive in.Įverything in “Catch-22" - the hair-raising aerial battles, the doomed soldiers, the snappy, surreal repartee - is filmed with a glowing, reverent beauty and set to a swanky big-band era soundtrack. They were so bent on turning a literary classic into a gleaming hunk of quality television that they played it way too safe. The catch with Hulu’s “Catch-22" is that the people behind it - an impressive creative crew led by George Clooney (who executive produced the series, directed two episodes and plays the tyrannical, pageant-happy Scheisskopf) - could not bring themselves to mess with Heller’s chaotic masterpiece. If you want to capture the barbed, bloody hilarity of Heller’s world - a world of enthusiastic liars, happy mercenaries and dim, parade-obsessed leaders - you need to go a little crazy. In order to do justice to Heller’s darkly funny look at the way bland bureaucracy makes the horror of war even more horrific, you have to be willing to wreak some artistic havoc. #CATCH 22 HULU TV#As it turns out, Heller’s fictional catch is also the best way to explain the real problem with the TV version. So perfect, in fact, that “catch-22" became a catch-all term for any situation in which logic could not be applied and hope might as well be giving up proactively. With the idea that you could be too sane to save yourself from insanity, Heller created the perfect cosmic paradox. And the very reasonable act of requesting to be relieved of dangerous combat duties proves that the man is sane. But as explained to Yossarian by the patiently beleaguered Doc Daneekathe Army Air Forces’ Catch-22 regulation says a man can only be released from dangerous combat duties if he is insane. Preferably by being relieved of his duties by reasons of insanity. John “YoYo” Yossarian, an American bombardier who just wants to get out of this war alive. #CATCH 22 HULU SERIES#Like Heller’s novel, the Hulu series follows the increasingly desperate adventures of Capt. But Hulu’s “Catch-22" does not pan out that way. Sort of like a mallet upside the head.Īnd in this era when daring TV creators are finding jagged humor in hit men who want to be actors (HBO’s “Barry”), security officers and assassins who have a thing for each other (BBC America/AMC’s “Killing Eve”), and “Groundhog Day"-style death loops (Neflix’s “Russian Doll”), Heller’s book should be a bottomless mine of black-comedy gold. ![]() It struck a deep chord during the Vietnam War, and as the war in Afghanistan grinds on and the Trump administration is drawing up war plans against Iran, it resonates now. While it was published in 1961 and set during World War II, Heller’s satirical novel about the way wars foster both farce and futility is tragically timeless. ![]() ![]() ![]() For US and Canadian Stocks, the Overview page includes key statistics on the stock's fundamentals, with a link to see more. The song was adopted by fans of the club and it is still sung by Norwich's fans. The oldest football song in the world that is still in use today may be " On the Ball, City", a song believed to have been composed in the 1890s by Albert T Smith, who became a director of Norwich City in 1905. ![]() ![]() However, the anthem he wrote, "He Banged The Leather For Goal", never caught on among fans on the terrace. Composer Sir Edward Elgar wrote a football song in honour of the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, Billy Malpass, after watching a match in February 1898 between Wolves and Stoke City. Blackburn Rovers fans were reported to have chanted "We've won the cup before – many a time" before their 1891 FA Cup Final match against Notts County. It was also recorded in the 1890s that Sheffield United fans had adopted a music hall song, the "Rowdy Dowdy Boys", while Southampton fans sang a "Yi! Yi! Yi!" chant based on a war cry. The first known song which references football, "The Dooley Fitba' Club" later known as " 'Fitba' Crazy", was also written in the 1880s by James Curran, although it was intended for the music hall rather than the terrace. War cries were known to have been used by football fans from the 1880s onwards, with the earliest recorded in Scotland after the Scottish Cup final of 1887. Early chants įootball fans' vocalisations came in the forms of cries, chants and songs in the 19th century. According to folk singer Martin Carthy, football chants are "the one surviving embodiment of an organic living folk tradition." It is also a unique public expression of collective identity, and football chants may be seen as modern examples of the folk tradition blason populaire where a group vocalise their identity as well as their rivalry against another group. 7 Chants based on advertising jingles, nursery rhymes and theme tunesįootball chants may be considered modern examples of traditional storytelling and folk songs.5 Chants based on spirituals and folk songs.4 Chants based on hymns and classical music.Football chants may be considered one of the last remaining sources of an oral folk song tradition. The tradition of football chants vary from country to country and team to team, but some chants are common to many clubs and popular internationally. They may also be popular for only a relatively short time, with new chants being constantly created and discarded. Football chants can be historic, dating back as early as the formation of the club popularly sung down the years and considered the anthems for these clubs. They are often adaptations of popular songs, using their tunes as the basis of the chants, but some are original.įootball chants are known to have been used by fans from the late 19th century onwards, but developed into the current popular forms in the 1960s. Sometimes the chants are spontaneous reactions to events on the pitch.įootball chants can be simple, consisting of a few loud shouts or spoken words, but more often they are short lines of lyrics and sometimes longer songs. Fans may also use football chants to slight the opposition, and many fans sing songs about their club rivals, even when they are not playing them. ![]() Football chanting is an expression of collective identity, most often used by fans to express their pride in the team or encourage the home team, and they may be sung to celebrate a particular player or manager. Once again, follow the weird-looking Harpy. Make your way across the gap by jumping on the floating rocks again. For this next section, you’ll have to make your way to four waypoints and hold off waves of Vex at each while you establish the link. Just follow your HUD marker to the Harpy. You’ll start getting bits and pieces of information from the Harpy about the captain, but you’ll have to prove yourself first. It’s friendly, so your job is just to keep following it.
